Dr. Fina G. Lopez is a highly accomplished pediatric dentist, recognized for her expertise in both clinical practice and academic leadership. She earned her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the University of the Philippines in 1997, and pursued an externship training in pediatric dentistry in 2000. She then pursued advanced training in pediatric dentistry at the Pediatric Dentistry Center Philippines (PDCP), where she completed her specialty education in 2015, further refining her expertise which solidified her foundation in child-focused dental care.
Dr. Lopez currently serves as the Executive Director of the PDCP, a role she has held since 2021. Prior to this, she was the Chief of Clinics in the same institution, where she played a critical role in shaping the pediatric dentistry residency training program. Her leadership has contributed to the growth and development of many aspiring pediatric dentists.
Beyond her clinical and academic roles, Dr. Fina has been an active member of the Philippine Dental Association (PDA) Speakers Bureau and has been giving lectures to PDA chapters and affiliates since 2001. This longstanding commitment to education underscores her passion for knowledge-sharing and professional development across the dental community. Dr. Fina is also a recognized leader in the Pediatric Dentistry community, having served as the President of the Philippine Pediatric Dental Society Inc. (PPDSI) from 2017 to 2019. Her contributions extend internationally as well, where she currently serves as the Board Member (2018–present) and Auditor (2024–2026) for the Pediatric Dentistry Association of Asia (PDAA) and as a Fellow of both the International College of Dentists (ICD, since 2018) and the International Association of Paediatric Dentistry (IAPD, since 2023), acknowledging her global impact on the field.
An active participant in professional development, Dr. Fina regularly attends and conducts seminars and workshops, including the well-regarded PEDOCOP program, a short course program for general dentists in pediatric dentistry. Her presentations on a variety of pediatric dentistry topics, including cariology, caries risk assessment, glass ionomers, behavior management, treatment planning, antibiotic stewardship and prescription writing for children reflect her commitment to advancing pediatric oral health care in the Philippines.
